He is an established artist from Estonia; yet not focussed by European curators, art critics and or art collectors.
He has been educated as a graphic and painter, »which is typical of the circumstances of Estonia. However, untypically for the Estonian circumstances, Peeter Allik has not yet moved to Tallinn. The artist remains an independent figure in his own rural environment.
Peeter Allik expresses his viewpoints by creating metaphors in the form of bodily perceptions - each abstract concept, phenomenon of life, idea or ideal is translated into the language of perceptions, which should be understandable to everyone. Therefore, according to Peeter Allik the most important thing is still a humang being, not a maschine, abstract concept or ideal«

About Peeter Allik's women or men »Nor, one of them isn't the symbol of anything. The contrast, which has been led up the maximum between femininity and manliness, between vulnerability and power, hatches Estonian tradition. The wish of Peeter Allik to the observer is not to stare his works lazily and apathetically. These works should arise people to think. And it works as the understandable and the incomprehensible are just in right proportions. It isn't so confused that the observer could lose the hope but also not so easy that it could be restricted to cliché.«

Reality sucks – Menschen lieben erkennbare Kunst. Ästhetische Formen, die einen intellektuellen Kontext sichtbar machen. Aber, es ist phantastisch und viele finden es wunderbar, dass eine Kunst geschaffen worden ist, die uns unmittelbar ein Bild davon macht, dass das sogenannte Schöne auch eine Wirklichkeit besitzt, über die manche lieber nicht reflektieren möchten. Diese Kunst ist ein guter Grund, um kultiviert zu streiten . - )

For a long period Allik's Art was not that favoured by a group of leading officials. Happily a few Estonian art critics, open-minded Estonian entrepreneurs did recognise the importancy of Allik's critical paintings for their young and promosing democracy . - )
